Gigavision demo video

October 16, 2009

Here’s a rough draft of the demo video for the gigavision system.

Video was created in Adobe Photoshop and AfterEffects by hand-aligning five 1.5 billion pixel panoramas that were shot over 9 month at the one of the gigavision site in the Indiana Dunes State Park. Since these panoramas were shot by hand they congruence between the images is a bit variable. With the permanently installed system it will be possible to pan through space while watching the timelapse at the same time and then zoom into individual plants to watch them grow.

    Inspirational stuff. Thanks for sharing.

I thought you might be interested in having a look at some clips from Epsilon, an obscure Australian film that has some of the best timelapse i have seen. It’s certainly not the DIY approach you have taken, but certainly worth having a look.

I’m about to venture off into the Tanami Desert here in Australia to do some night sky timelapse. You site has given me food for thought.

    Thanks again

    Stewart
